Art for Peace
A
better understanding of culture and a message for peace through
art
BREAK
THE BLOCK!
To celebrate the opening of this program, the Museum would
like to invite everyone to a "Break the Block" ceremony
on Saturday, January 27 at 12 noon. Creative art activities
are available and marble cake will be served after the Break
the Block ceremony.

The
Coral Springs Museum of Art will host the second part of the
International Sculpture Symposium that will bring together
two internationally known sculptors to create the final sculptures
for the Peace Garden. Yoshin Ogata, a Japanese sculptor representing
Asia, will carve 3 meters of red Travertine marble. Perez
Celis, an Argentinean artist & sculptor representing South
America will create a sculpture using wood, metal & stone.
The public is invited to watch and engage in dialogue with
the artists throughout the process.
Yoshin
and Celis will be working on-site in the museum's sculpture
garden on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, 11am to 4pm, January
28 through March 9. Lectures and programs will be conducted

finished sculptures from Asia and South America will be
placed in the Peace Garden beside the sculptures created
by Armen Agop (Africa), Lothar Nickel (Europe) and Roy
Patterson (North America) for the
AIR
2006 International Sculpture Symposium I - Art for
Peace.
