Artist in Residence 2001 and 2002:
Lothar Nickel

Born in Düsseldorf, Germany, Lothar Nickel was introduced to stone carving during a trip to the west coast of Scotland. His medium of choice is light-colored marble. Nickel maintains residences in Boca Raton, Burghaun-Langenschwartz, Germany and Pietrasanta, Italy, where he also has a studio.

The artist holds a Diploma in Sculpture and Fine Arts from the Alnus Scholl of Art, Bonn, and he was the winner of the 2000 Rhoen Salon Exhibit in Kunststation Kleinsassen. He has exhibited extensively throughout Europe and the United States and has work in private and public collections in Germany, Italy and Florida.
