FRIENDS OF THE MUSEUM

Friends of the Museum is a volunteer organization comprised primarily, but not entirely, of Coral Springs residents. Volunteers support the Coral Springs Museum of Art through fundraising and community awareness and through providing advocacy for the Museum.

Sponsoring two fundraising events annually, Friends of the Museum is the Museum's largest support group.

The Great Art Affair

The Great Art Affair is held annually in April and is the museum's largest fundraiser of the year. It relies on the Friends to help plan the event, go out into the Community to raise sponsorship dollars and help bring in attendees. Each year there is a silent auction of art plates and vessels, a live auction of original artwork, and wonderful tastings of various foods and wines from area caterers and restaurants.

October Wine-Tasting Fundraiser

The Fresh Market and The Museum have hosted an October wine-tasting fundraiser for the past eight years. The Fresh Market provides a selection of wines from around the world, along with light hors d'oeuvres. Friends of the Museum are expected to help get the word out to the Community, promote ticket sales, and attend in support of the Museum.

Friends of the Museum meets once a month and then bi-monthly and weekly closer to events. Those interested in joining should call the Museum at 954.340.5000.

Funding for this organization is provided
in part by the Broward County Board of County
Commissioners as recommended by the
Broward Cultural Council.
